Before I looked, now I see

Over 68 days, I backpacked from Singapore to Japan. In Japan, I began at the southern tip in Ibusuki and eventually made my way to Tokyo. I asked myself two questions: 1. Who am I without depression and anxiety? 2. What does long term high-quality joy look like for me? What began as obsessive mourning of an old identity became a celebration of the non-linear process of healing, self-growth, and joy. These 68 artworks represent each day of my journey from the extraordinary to the mundane and the discoveries made along the way. I created these pieces during my artist residency at Almost Perfect in Tokyo.
