In 7th grade, my history teacher told us we could do whatever we want with our cut-out masks. I don't remember why we were decorating cut-out masks, but any opportunity to break away from the day-to-day routine excited me, especially if it was creative. For whatever reason, I started drawing a version of these black and white lines. Since that moment, these lines have kept returning to my work. Whenever I feel anxious and restless, I gravitate towards these lines. I logically understand meditation is good for me, but as I chronic overthinker I find it impossible to actually follow through. Drawing these lines is the closest form of meditation for me.
